Fort McMurray Reads 2013

YMM Reads 2013 1

Back for a second time, the Fort McMurray Public Library will host the Fort McMurray Reads panel, pitting notable community figures against one another in the name of literacy.

Panelists will each select a book and debate its merits in order to secure a place as the Fort McMurray Reads Book of 2013 — an official FMPL endorsement of the book as the best book for McMurrayites to pick up and read.

After successfully losing at the inaugural Fort McMurray Reads event, Toddske and Tito are back to moderate this year’s esteemed panel including published author Julie Rowe, representing Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion; Nolan Haukeness from Rock 97.9, representing Downtown Owl by Chuck Klosterman; Verna Murphy, a Today columnist, representing No Great Mischief by Alistair MacLeod; Steve Reeve from Mix 103.7, representing Late Nights on Air by Elizabeth Hay; and MacDonald Island Park chief operating officer Tim Reid, When Pride Still Mattered: A Life of Vince Lombardi by David Maraniss.

Sunday, August 25 2013 – 4:30pm at MacDonald Island Miskinaw South Room
